Matt Gohn knows how to build a brand. Passionate about helping large and small organizations share their stories with the world, Matt has worked with a variety of clients to help them achieve their digital communications goals and has worn many hats over the years.
In his career, Matt has worked on a slew of large and small multimedia projects involving graphic design, branded content strategy, social media strategy, video editing, photo production, podcast production, script writing, event management and more. Past and current clients include: DC United, One Eight Distilling, Hellbender Brewery, McClatchy Creative Lab, the National Automobile Dealers Association, Yoga Heights DC and the Washington Hebrew Congregation. Additionally, before his last full-time role at the Energy Impact Center, Matt worked for several years as the Theater and Video Services Manager for the American University School of Communication, where he honed his creative, project management and people management skills via several departmental projects, events and initiatives.
When his schedule allows, Matt also enjoys volunteering his creative and communication expertise - particularly his graphic design skills - for a number of nonprofits across the U.S. through the Catchafire platform.
Matt has a deep passion for education and is a proud alumnus of American University. In 2017, Matt graduated from his alma mater with a Master of Arts in Strategic Communication. As part of his graduate studies, Matt created strategic communications plans for local businesses, including Hellbender Brewery. During his time at AU, Matt also won the 2017 American University School of Communication Public Communication Program - Best Graduate Strategic Communication Plan Award.
For his undergraduate degree, Matt also attended American University, where he received his B.A. in Film & Media Arts in 2013. During his undergraduate years at AU, Matt was very active on campus and was the Co-founder of the AU Film Society and part of the Student Union Board. He also held several jobs and internships, including positions at DC United and with the Washington Wizards and Mystics.
Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, Matt attended high school at Mt. St. Joseph High School, where he graduated in 2008.
When he's not working, Matt loves to spend time watching classic films, playing video games, reading (and writing!) about the latest in the multimedia industry, researching the best hot sauces and relaxing with his friends and family. He has two cats, Rogue and Jean, and resides in Arlington, VA with his dear wife.
